Anne Boleyn TV documentary

Saturday, 28 November 2020

A new series for Channel 5 made by Lion Television has screened in the UK. ‘Anne Boleyn: Arrest, Trial, Execution’ is as the title might suggest a three-part documentary series examining the demise of Henry VIII’s second queen. The series is also known as ‘The Fall of Anne Boleyn’. This is the title given on the broadcaster’s website, but the program bears the first listed title above. The presenter is historian Tracy Borman, who has also written Elizabethan-era biographies and that of Matilda, wife and queen of William the Conqueror. The series was broadcast in the UK over three nights earlier this week, 24-26 November 2020, and can be seen online in Britain until March 2021 at the Channel 5 website for the series here

An ideal follow-up read is the Yale book ‘Anne Boleyn: Fatal Attractions’ (2011) by G. W. Bernard.
